News and Opinion

Only a minority of people over the age of 55 reported being uncomfortable being managed by someone younger (16%), older (7%) or the same age (8%), adding to the growing body of evidence that older workers can be a valuable, flexible resource in multi-generational teams. This is according to findings from a YouGov survey of over 1000 workers commissioned by Business in the Community (BITC), released today.

Are you ready?

The workforce in the UK is changing. Understanding the challenges and opportunities of an ageing population is vital if we want to create productive, innovative and inclusive multi-generational teams as we all lead longer working lives.

Become a partner

In October 2016, Business in the Community's Leadership Team on age at work was appointed as the Government’s Business Champion for Older Workers, to lead the work in supporting businesses to recruit, retain and retrain older workers. To help us develop this role and achieve the objectives of the campaign we are seeking senior executives to join the age campaign’s Leadership Team.

We also offer the opportunity for organisations to promote the age of experience by becoming a champion or core partner of the age campaign.
